Here's what we learned this year!

Some of the major concepts we will review are:

Ratio and Proportions

6.RP.1 ~ I understand what they mean by ratio and don't come at me bro cuz I know fractions and ratios have different meaning! I can use that math language to talk all day long about ratios!

6.RP.3 ~ I can solve those ratio problems using my brain using diagrams, number lines, double number lines or equations!

Number Sense

6.NS.1 ~ When I was a young kid (5th grade), I could divide whole number by unit fractions and unit fractions by whole numbers. Look at me now! I can divide whole number by a fraction and a fraction by a fraction!

6.NS.3 ~ Give me multi-digit decimals to add, subtract, multiply and divide and I can knock them out - just watch me!

6.NS.7 ~ I can order (using inequalities) and compare rational numbers. Even number written like this I-5I - ha!, absolutely!

6.NS.8 ~ I can now use those absolute values to help me find the distance between two points on the coordinate plan if they share an x-value or if they share a y-value. I'm on it!

Expressions and Equations

6.EE.3 ~ I love to give props to distributive property and write equivalent expressions! Multiplicative identity property of 1, and the commutative property help me out everytime.

6.EE.7 ~ I can write equations from real-world problems and then use inverse operations to solve one-step equations based on real world situations. The equations can be fractions or decimals, I can solve for the unknown value. I got this!
