Claiming Accounts (Grades 6-12 only)
Students must first be able to login to PowerSchool before they can access an assessment. If students have not already claimed their NCEdcloud account, then they will need to go through that process.
Have the student click the Claim My Account button. They should use the drop down menu to select LEA Student Claim Policy, then click Next.
They will need to fill out several questions, including their grade level (which needs to match PowerSchool's account, so watch out for repeaters!). Once they finish, they should be able to log in.
It may take some time to get this done. So do not expect them to be able to claim their accounts and take an assessment in the same day.

Students Forgot Password
If students have already claimed their account, but cannot recall their password then you can follow these steps to change their password: https://ncedcloud.mcnc.org/teachers-and-staff
- Click on Profiles on left menu, then My Students
- Select specific student(s), then click Change Password.
- The password must contain an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter and a number (example School18). Enter twice and click Save.
- Remember, multiple teachers in your building will use Schoolnet to administer assessments so passwords should be set up with a common formula. For example, Charles2009 (middle name, year of birth).
