About Me

My name is Leah Allen. I am a Mt. Holly native who attended Ida Rankin Elementary K-6th grade. I received my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from UNC-Greensboro in 2004 and my graduate degree from Appalachain State University in 2011.

This is my 16th year as a teacher. I have taught third, fourth, and fifth grades in Gaston County. Fifth grade is my absolute favorite! I love the personalities of 10 and 11 year olds. I find them to be fun, entertaining, and very inquisitive.

I am married to Josh, my husband of 11 years, and have two kids named Jax and Harper. Jax is a quiet 9-year-old soccer player, guitarist, beekeeper, and fourth grader who loves to read at Ida Rankin. Harper is an outgoing 7-year-old dancer, artist, glitter-loving first grader here at Rankin as well.
