• Church: our historic church is located at 208 S. Fourth Street in Oakland.

• Parish Center: located next to our Church in Oakland (Parish Office, Chapel, and classrooms: lower level; Hall, upper level - events)

  • Note: The Parish Office is closed Friday-Sunday and holidays.

• Saturday, October 4: St. Francis of Assisi Feast Day- Blessing of Animals/Pets: Bring your pets for a blessing with Father Bill at noon at the Parish Center parking lot in Oakland and at noon at the Lake Center parking lot in McHenry with Deacon Jon. Please bring pets on a leash or in carriers. Thank you. PLEASE NOTE: the announcement in the 092825 printed bulletin erroneously refers to this event being held on Sunday,Oct. 5. We will bless pets only on Saturday, October 4. Our apologies for the error and any confusion it may have caused.

• Wednesday, October 15: Respect for All Life – 40 Days for Life –A Day of Adoration at St. Peter the Apostle Church in Oakland. Our day begins at 8a.m. and will continue until 8 p.m. with Mass at Noon and the Holy Rosary for Life prayed throughout the day. Benediction begins at 7:50 p.m. and will close our day. November 2: All Souls Day. Make plans to join us for a Healing and Support Counseling Gathering at the Parish Center Hall, following our 9a.m., Mass in Oakland.   

November 8: Shrimp and Bull Roast, 6-9 p.m., Parish Center Hall, Oakland Tickets must be purchased in advance.

November 21: Special Event - Kristen Fischer of Enkindle Catholic. Watch our bulletins for details. Sponsored by the Evangelization Mission Team. 

December 7: Ravens vs Steelers Tailgate, 12:30 - 3:30 p.m., at our Parish Center in Oakland. Plan to join our Evangelization Mission Team for a fun and tasty gathering while we watch the game on our big screen. Kick-off at 1 p.m.  Bring your favorite potluck snack to share. Additional details forthcoming.

Weekly and Monthly Recurring Events

• Weekend Masses: Saturday at 4 p.m. at St. Peter at the Lake in McHenry and Sunday at 9 a.m. at St. Peter the Apostle Church in Oakland.  The Holy Rosary is prayed 30 minutes before these Masses and Confessions are offered after Mass (and on Wednesday evening). The Children's Liturgy of the Word (CLOW) is offered during our Sunday Mass in Oakland, September - May.

• Weekday Masses: Monday - Thursday at noon and Simple Adoration from 12:30-1:30 p.m.,  at the Church in Oakland. If a priest is not present Monday-Thursday, a Communion Service will be held. 

• Every first Sunday: Monthly Sunday Adoration, Immediately after the 9 a.m. Mass (10 a.m. -11a.m.) in the Church, Oakland.

• Every second Monday: Community Supper, 4 - 6PM, Parish Center Hall in Oakland.

• Every third Wednesday: Bereavement Support Group Meeting, 10:30AM in the Parish Hall, Lower Level (unless listed otherwise above).

• Every Friday: Pray the Rosary at 3 p.m. with Bill Schrider and Friends at the Parish Center Hall (or, weather permitting, on the porch) in Oakland. All are welcome!
