Epsilon Sigma Omicron (ESO) is the honorary educational society supported by the General Federation of Women's Clubs and is open to all GFWC club members. Guided by the motto “Enlighten Your Own Pathway,” ESO encourages lifelong learning, personal growth, and a love of reading through a structured yet self-paced reading program. Members explore a wide variety of genres and topics, complete reading reports, and progress through achievement levels as they work toward individual reading goals. The program also promotes discussion groups, educational enrichment, and community connection through a shared passion for books and learning.
Below you can find the full introduction, membership information, reading categories, achievement levels, and bylaws for Epsilon Sigma Omicron to learn more about the program and how to participate through the Garner Woman's Club ESO Chapter.
Explore the wide variety of Epsilon Sigma Omicron reading categories designed to encourage readers to branch out into new genres, topics, and authors. To help members complete categories and discover their next great read, we’ve also included recommended titles and suggestions for each category as inspiration throughout your ESO reading journey.
The ESO Reading Log is where members can track their progress through each Epsilon Sigma Omicron reading category. Each reading category has its own designated tab on the spreadsheet. You need to read four books in that category to complete the category. If you continue to read books in that category afterwards, please duplicate that sheet and keep track of any additional books, as these can be counted after you reach Century status.
As of April 2026, members only need to record the title and author of each completed book. If you have any questions or run into issues filling out your log, please reach out to Amanda B for assistance.
Completed Logs: Once you've read four books in a category, screenshot or take a picture of the completed log and email our state ESO chair, Lynn Wiss (wisslynneso@gmail.com).
