Google Certified Coach

Step 1.  Access the Training Center

• Use the Chrome browser on your device

• Go to the Google for Education Certified Coach Curriculum

• Click Log In at the top right and sign in with your Garland ISD Google account

• Click Get Started to begin the training

💡 The system will save your progress as long as you’re signed in — feel free to pause and return any time!

Step 2.  Complete All Training Modules

• Begin with Unit 1 and work your way through each unit

• Each module includes videos, real-world examples, and practice opportunities

• Practice questions appear at the end of each unit to help you check your understanding

Step 3.  Take the Coach Skills Assessment

• Use the Chrome browser on your device

• Go to the Google for Education Certified Coach Curriculum

• Click Log In at the top right and sign in with your Garland ISD Google account

• Click Get Started to begin the training

Step 4.  Build Your Coaching Portfolio

• Use the final module as your guide for this. Your portfolio should show how you’ve applied the 5-Step Coaching Model in your real work with teachers.

• Your portfolio will include:

  • A 3–5 minute video explaining how you used the 5-Step Model to support a teacher

  • A coaching artifact showing how you planned and tracked your coaching sessions

  • A data-focused artifact that shows how you measured impact

  • A "bright spot" artifact — a story that highlights teacher or student growth

  • Your Level 1 and Level 2 certificates

  • An administrator reference letter
