Dee YA Hear That?

Sound. Sound waves. Electric and alive, all around us, within us. How could we ever have doubted that music is part of who we are and intrinsic to our existence?

The picture above was taken by NASA, and shows an electron 'whistling' within a plasma-wave. The universe vibrates. Sound is Energy. Man has learned to organise sound into meaningful patterns.

LANGUAGE.

Music is the most organic and raw form of language that we communicate with. In our creativity, we have managed to produce as many varieties of music as we have spoken languages.

If you really LISTEN, you can hear the thoughts and feelings of the person who composed or played the music. You can even understand it. Some of that understanding is so deep that words cannot even express it. It touches your SOUL.

Sometimes you cannot understand or appreciate a type of music. That is because the music produced is unfamiliar to your life. Learning to appreciate such music is very much like moving to a foreign country and learning to understand its people. This is when the ART OF LISTENING kicks in.

I am half a century old and still learning to listen!
