Peer Tutoring

Peer Tutoring - 2024-2025 classroom code ny5hygc

Fill in either the tutor google form if you would like to tutor and earn community service hours or the tutee form if you would like academic support.

Peer Tutoring takes place every Tuesday and Thursday at the beginning of lunch during period 3 and 4 in room 109.

TDSS Math PALS

What is Math PALS?

Classroom Code: jdkhkrb

Math PALS (Peer Assisted Learning System) fosters collaboration and peer-driven support. Students will be assigned to a tutor/tutee for the duration of the semester.

It is a weekly commitment from both the tutor and tutee. Students may be assigned a small group, individual or act as a floater.

Where and when? Wednesdays

Period 3 10:45-11:15 (Room 241)
Period 4 12:00-12:40 (Room 109)

Get the math help you need from the tutor of your choice!

Mathify offers FREE 1:1 online math tutoring for students in public schools. Once you login to TVO Mathify you’ll be able to connect with an Ontario Certified Teacher of your choice. With our interactive white board, voice and text chat it’s easy to communicate and go back and forth on your device to get the help you want.

Paul Andersen has created hundreds of science videos that have been viewed millions of times by learners around the world.

Crash Course

The Crash Course team has produced more than 15 courses to date, and these videos accompany high school and college level classes ranging from the humanities to the sciences. Crash Course transforms the traditional textbook model by presenting information in a fast-paced format, enhancing the learning experience.

Phet Interactive Simulations

Founded in 2002 by Nobel Laureate Carl Wieman, the PhET Interactive Simulations project at the University of Colorado Boulder creates free interactive math and science simulations.

The Amoeba Sisters

This site was created by two sisters on a mission to demystify science with humor and relevance by creating videos, GIFs, comics, and resources. Their focus is on high school biology.

Virtual Molecules

This site provides a 3 dimensional perspective on chemical compounds.

MolView

MolView is an intuitive, Open-Source web-application that makes science more awesome! You can use MolView to search through different scientific databases including compound databases, protein databases and spectral databases, and view records from these databases as interactive visualizations

Edinformatics

This website has physics simulations and math and science modules in a variety of subjects such as mass, volume, density, states of matter, sexual and asexual reproduction etc.

Exploratorium

Exploratorium is a physics focused website that has more than 35,000 pages of original apps, microsites, webcasts, videos, articles, podcasts, slideshows, online exhibits, and activities, there's plenty to wander through, explore, do, and experience.
