TAS1O1 - Technology and the Skilled Trades

(GRADE 9) This course engages students in design problem-solving through sketching, technical drawings, testing, and marketing. They will explore communications technology, including graphic design and film production, as well as 3D printing, architecture, and introductory electronics. In the woodshop, students apply measurement and engineering to create custom projects using specialized equipment. Project completion may vary based on class pace and prior knowledge, providing a hands-on, practical learning experience across multiple disciplines.

TGJ2O1 - Communications Technology (Audio/Video)

(GRADE 10) This course introduces students to communications technology from a media perspective. Students will work in the areas of TV/video and movie production, radio and audio production, print and graphic communications, photography, and interactive new media and animation. Student projects may include computer-based activities such as creating videos, editing photos, working with audio, cartooning and developing animations.

TCJ2O1 - Technological Design (Woodworking Techniques)

(GRADE 10) This course introduces students to construction materials, tools, and processes through hands-on design and building projects. They will create and interpret working drawings, use hand and power tools, and apply imperial and metric measurements. Students will perform fabrication, assembly, and finishing tasks while exploring environmental and societal impacts of construction. The course also highlights secondary and postsecondary pathways to careers in the construction industry.

TDJ2O1 - Technological Design

(Grade 10) This course provides students with opportunities to apply a design process to meet a variety of technological challenges. Students will research projects, create designs, 3 printing, build models and/or prototypes, and assess products and/or processes using appropriate tools, techniques, and strategies.

TEJ2O1 - Computer Technology

(Grade 10) This course introduces students to computer systems, networking, and interfacing, as well as electronics and robotics. Students will assemble, repair, and configure computers with various types of operating systems and application software. Students will build small electronic circuits and write computer programs to control simple peripheral devices or robots.
