TGG4M Print and Graphics Communications (Graphic Design)

This course enables students to develop knowledge and skills in the areas of photography, digital imaging, animation, 3D modeling, and web design. Students will work on multimedia production as well as computer-generated animations, graphical information displays and websites. The knowledge and skills they will develop will provide a basis for careers in areas such as publishing, advertising, print production, animation, photography, and journalism.-by itself or (This course may need to include a Yearbook production focus if the Yearbook course does not run)

TGJ4M Communications Technology: Audio/Video

This course builds on media skills through projects in live, recorded, and graphic communications, including video, audio, print, photography, digital imaging, journalism, and interactive media. Students will deepen their understanding of environmental and societal issues in communications technology and explore career opportunities and challenges in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.

Technological Design: Architectural Design

In this course students will work with advanced 3D modeling software to create detailed building plans as well as studying interior, mechanical and industrial design. Students will also work with various software programs including AutoCAD and Google Sketch Up to design and 3D print their work. They will explore career opportunities and post secondary education options while creating projects that can be included in their portfolio for post secondary acceptance.

Custom Woodworking

Grade 12

This course advances students’ skills in planning, designing, and constructing residential or commercial cabinets and furniture. They’ll safely use woodworking materials, tools, finishes, and hardware, while learning entrepreneurial skills for a custom woodworking business. Students will also explore health, safety, environmental, and societal issues related to woodworking, and investigate career opportunities available after graduation.

Computer Engineering Technology

This course extends students' understanding of computer systems and computer interfacing with external devices. Students will assemble computer systems by installing and configuring appropriate hardware and software, and will learn more about fundamental concepts of electronics, robotics, programming, and networks. Students will examine related environmental and societal issues, and will explore postsecondary pathways leading to careers in computer technology.

Grade 12 Yearbook Courses (Print and Graphic Design - subject to change):

*If Yearbook runs next year, it will either be one or two courses depending on how many students sign up & if there are enough, it will be paired with TGP4M, below.
If there are not enough students, Yearbook will likely be in 2nd semester & the-02 section of this course will run as Grade 12 Graphic Design who may also be producing pages for the Yearbook.

The knowledge and skills they will develop will provide a basis for careers in areas such as publishing, advertising, print production, animation, photography, and journalism.

TGP4M1 - Yearbook 2

In this two credit course (to be taken with TGG4M1-01), students will enhance leadership/teamwork skills, learn about photography and copy while capturing the year’s most valued memories culminating in the production of the current yearbook. This course runs all year long. Good knowledge of Photoshop is highly recommended for this course.
