2019-2020 Year Book Cover

Attention Artists!

Represent WMS and have your art be a part of history as the

yearbook cover! Create artwork for the cover of the yearbook.

Requirements:

-8 1/2 x 11 inch paper

- Leave a ½ inch border around your work for copying purposes

- the school year, 2019-2020

- Wadsworth Middle School or WMS

-creative and original artwork - No tracing!!

Covers are due Friday, September 20thth to

Entries will be voted on by the staff and the winner will be featured as the cover of the yearbook!


Earth Day Poster Contest- More info coming soon! (Spring)

The Medina Soil & Water Conservation District holds a yearly poster contest. More information on the theme will be posted when it is available!

Media: paint, crayon, colored pencil, stickers, paper, or other materials

Size: 14" x 22" (see Mrs. Wallen for paper)

Must be done by individual students, no groups

An entry form must be attached (see Mrs. Wallen for entry form)

Cost of the Dragon Poster Contest (Dangers of Addiction)-

"Heroin use and the misuse of prescription opioids are increasing in pandemic proportions everywhere, especially here in Northeast Ohio. Overdose deaths in our area are among the highest in the country. Unfortunately, these numbers are only expected to increase. Recent statistics show that the average age of the first-time opiate user is between the ages of 12 and 17. In effort to raise awareness on this epidemic, the FBICAF, Robby's Voice, DEA Cleveland, WEB, USANDO and FBI Cleveland have collaborated in order to spread the word about the Opiate addiction.

-Poster must contain original/non-copyrighted material. No branded material, logos, etc.

-Posters should not contain obscene material or language, nudity, profanity, or violence

Size: 18" x 24" (see Mrs. Wallen for paper)

An entry form must be attached (see Mrs. Wallen)

*1st Place- $400, 2nd Place- $200, 3rd $100, 1 Participation Award $50*

Doodle 4 Google

Use the template to create a Doodle 4 Google (the script at the top of Google's search page).

The theme this year is "What Inspires Me", expressing the inspiration through a creative doodle.

Five finalists in the entire contest will be flown to Google's Mountain View headquarters, and one winning student from the five will receive a $30,000 college scholarship, a $50,000 Google for Education technology package for their school, and a behind-the-scenes experience with the Doodle team to transform their Doodle into ana interactive experience that will launch by the end of 2018.
