2025 debate DETAILS
The Singapore Youth Forum Debate 2025 is a unique inter-school competition held alongside the annual Singapore Youth Forum. The debate aims to bring together students from local and international schools across Singapore to tackle pressing global issues in a collaborative format.
Instead of competing as fixed school teams, each participating school nominates one representative student. Students are then placed into mixed-school teams to encourage cross-school collaboration, leadership, and critical thinking.
Structure: 2 vs 2 teams
Rounds: 2 debates in total
Judging: Distinguished members of the Youth Forum panels
Collaboration: Students will meet their teammates after nominations close, working together to prepare their case and strategy.
Morning Debate (12:00pm to 12:30pm): “AI and automation will do more harm than good to future job markets.”
Lunch Debate (3:45pm to 4:15pm): “Corporations have a greater responsibility than governments in solving climate change.”
