Your work experience or industry placement gives you a great opportunity to put your learning into practice and develop your technical skills and knowledge for the industry your placement is in.
It will enable you to develop in a number of ways:
You will gain the experience of being in a work place setting
It will help you to step out of your comfort zone and build confidence through interacting with other employees and maybe customers
It will help you identify what sort of job you would like to do and what sort of organisation you would like to work for when you finish education
It will enhance your employment opportunities in the future by ensuring your c.v. includes real work experience
Your Link Tutor will explain to you whether you are eligible for an Industry Work Placement or whether you will be completing work experience. They will support you in finding a suitable placement and making sure you are prepared for this.
You will use GroFAR to assess your skills and track your progress with the employability skills you develop. Your Progress Tutor will introduce you to GroFAR at the start of term.
