At Suffolk New College, preparing you for your next steps and for employment is one of our key aims.
We have developed the e-PASS which is a set of criteria employers look for when appointing applicants to job roles.
We support you to complete your e-PASS and prepare for work in a number of ways:
As part of your study programme, you will develop the skills and learn about the industry you plan to go into after college through lessons and workshops
Through activities at college, you will learn core employability skills such as working in a team, learning how to work on your own initiative and working independently, to name a few.
You will also undertake work experience or an industry work placement, which we will help you prepare for through undertaking some online activities prior to starting your placement.
Using the App GroFAR - you will self-assess your current skills against the e-PASS - prior to starting your placement; your tutor will set you some targets to achieve during your placement. Once you have completed your placement you will re-assess your skills against the e-PASS to see how far you have developed in this time.
You will be able to use this information on job applications and in interviews as you start to apply for jobs.
