The Spotlight

The Spotlight is being written by Andy Gomez, Amilia Stanton, and Shawn O'rourke. The spotlight is about some students and teachers lives. We will be writing many stories about their lives and they will all be different because everyone is living a different life. We joined this page because we thought it would be fun to interview people and hear about their life and some of their stories. We also want to have fun and learn how to listen more carefully to people.

11-8-21

We are interviewing Larissa Ulbricht. Larissa is a hard-working student here at Hamlin Middle School. She has been here since 6th grade up to now. She does gymnastics she has been doing this for 4 years. Larissa was born in 2008 on February 4th. She is from Springfield Oregon. When she finishes middle school she is going to be attending Springfield High School.

Larissa wants to study to become a surgeon. She wants to be a cardiothoracic surgeon. She wants to go to UCLA or a good college for becoming a surgeon. If nothing works out she would still want to be part of the medical field. She just wants to help people out.

We are interviewing Connor Hockett. Connor is a hard-working student here at Hamlin Middle School. Connor has been at Hamlin since sixth grade. Before Hamlin, he went to Centennial Elementary for all five years. He has lived in Springfield Oregon all his life.

Connor loves playing sports. The two main sports he plays are football and basketball. He plays on the Springfield Millers football team. He is hoping that he will play winter basketball for Hamlin. He is number eight on his football team.

Elijah Hebert (A-bear) is an 8th grader at Hamlin Middle School. Elijah loves to play sports, the main sports he likes to play is football and basketball. He plays for the youth Springfield Millers football team. He plays wide receiver and defensive back. He will be doing basketball for the Hamlin team in the winter and he is very excited.

In Elijah's past years he went Two Rivers Dos Rios Elementary school. He had a cat named Tuffy that unfortunately passed away. He got a new cat named Ralph but he still misses his old cat Tuffy. He liked playing video games, one of his favorites being Lego Indiana Jones. He also enjoys hanging out with friends and socializing.

Najayla Wilbert is an 8th grader here at Hamlin. She was born Jackson, Mississippi on June 30th 2008, and then she ended up coming to Oregon when she was just 7 years old. She then began going to school at Douglas Gardens elementary. She then had to transfer schools to Page Elementary 5th grade. Najayla is a straight-A Leadership Student.

Najayla loves to play volleyball and does dance. She dances at xcape dance and has been doing it for about 2 years. She is really good and has enjoys it a lot. She also plays volleyball for a team That is pretty good for their age. Their team color is green and she has been playing for about four years.

10-5-21

Rhylan Gregory is a 13-year-old male born in crescent city, California. Rhylan is doing really well in school after coming back for an almost 2 year period in online school. He is Having really good grades with all A's besides on C and he is trying really hard to make that back up to an A. In online school, he did not have great grades but was trying hard to get good grades. Now he is trying to make a comeback and get the best grades he can.

Rhylan is really into skating and hanging out with friends. Skating is one of his favorite hobbies and he is skilled in it. The trick he is trying to master is doing a kickflip. He has been trying to do a kickflip for about a month. He has been skating for about three years and is having a fun time doing. The first time he did an ollie was in 2019 and he was trying for about three months.
