1. Personal Background
Dr. Li-Fei Chen is a Professor in the Technology Application and Management Program, Department of Industrial Education, National Taiwan Normal University, Taipei, Taiwan. She received her Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management from National Tsing Hua University, Hsinchu, Taiwan, in 2007. Prior to her academic career, Dr. Chen gained substantial industry experience as a Section Manager in the Quality Assurance Department at Microelectronic Technology Inc. from 1997 to 2004. She subsequently held full-time faculty positions at Tahwa Institute of Technology, Hsinchu, Taiwan, from 2001 to 2008, and at Fu Jen Catholic University, New Taipei City, Taiwan, from 2008 to 2022.
In addition to her academic and professional experience, Dr. Chen holds the APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) certification, an internationally recognised credential in supply chain management.
2. Research Interests
Dr. Chen is dedicated to research on the interdisciplinary application of data analytics and decision science, including artificial intelligence, machine learning, data mining, and multi-criteria decision-making, as well as engineering management, particularly operations management and quality management. Her scholarly publications span both engineering-oriented SCIE journals and management-oriented SSCI journals. In recent years, she has also expanded her research agenda to include corporate social responsibility, ESG, and sustainability-related issues.
3. Personal Awards and Academic Honours
Dr. Chen has been listed for two consecutive years in the annual “World’s Top 2% Scientists” rankings, being recognised among the “2021 World’s Top 2% Scientists” and the “2022 World’s Top 2% Scientists.” Her areas of scientific impact include Artificial Intelligence & Image Processing, and Business & Management.
She was also awarded a Fulbright grant and served as a Senior Visiting Scholar in the Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering at the University of Missouri–Columbia, USA. Dr. Chen’s academic honours include the Special Talent Award from the Ministry of Science and Technology, Taiwan, for multiple years between 2013 and 2022; the Award of Merits for Excellence in Academic Research from the College of Management, Fu Jen Catholic University, for multiple academic years between 2009 and 2022. She also received the Most Cited Articles Award 2008 from Expert Systems with Applications, and the Top Downloaded Paper Award 2018–2019 from Corporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management.
