CRIME SOLVERS

Course Description: This class covers crime solving basics: finger painting, scavenger hunts, solving mysteries, and riddles. Use your best detective skills to solve mock crime scenes. We will play CLUE and watch a mystery movie!

Course Description: Students will build a foundation for lifelong wellness through a high-energy mix of team sports, personal fitness challenges, and individual training.
BOARD GAME BONANZA

Course Description: The students will challenge themselves and others as they participate in a variety of fun strategy board games. A variety of games will be played and tournament games will challenge the students even more. No level of expertise required. Simply come join us for several weeks of great gaming fun!

CODING WITH MINECRAFT

Course Description: Whether you are a Minecraft megafan or a newbie, you will see Minecraft in a whole new light while learning the basics of programming. Begin with some short, simple Python lessons and then use your new skills to modify Minecraft to produce instant and totally awesome results. Learn how to customize Minecraft to make mini-games, duplicate entire buildings, and turn boring blocks into gold.
LIFETIME FITNESS

Course Description: This course is designed to empower students with the knowledge and skills necessary to lead a healthy and active lifestyle throughout their lives. Students will explore various aspects of fitness, including weight training, principles of training, nutrition, mental wellness, and overall well-being. Students will engage in a combination of classroom learning, hands-on activities, and physical exercise to develop a holistic understanding of what it means to be physically and mentally fit. Topics covered will include goal setting, exercise routines, healthy eating habits, stress management techniques, and the importance of regular physical activity.

STRENGTH & SPEED (HEART OF A CHAMPION)

Course Description: This course is designed to provide students with the opportunity to improve their physical fitness through strength and speed training, while also developing essential leadership skills. Students will engage in a variety of workouts and training techniques to enhance their strength, speed, agility, and endurance. Additionally, students will participate in leadership education activities to cultivate skills such as communication, teamwork, decision-making, and goal-setting. Through group projects, discussions, and real-world applications, students will have the chance to develop their leadership potential both on and off the field. Students will see improvements in their physical fitness levels, while also feeling empowered to become well-rounded individuals who are capable of leading by example and making positive contributions to their communities.
BABYSITTING 101 - June 15-25 from 12:00-2:30
Grades: 6-High School

Course Description: Do you love babies and little kids? Are you responsible, caring and ready to learn? If you answered YES!, this class is the one for you! This summer, our class will be a fast-paced class as it is running for 8 days from 12:00-2:30. We will learn how to entertain children of all ages in a babysitter preparation class. Each student will complete a babysitter's preparation handbook, create a babysitter survival kit, and learn CPR by a certified professional. You will then receive a certificate that says you are certified in CPR and you completed the coursework to be a babysitter. If you're ready to have some fun and practice the skills you learn, sign up and learn how to be the BEST babysitter around! **Please note you are welcome to join the class as a 6th grader, but you will not be certified until 7th grade (12 years old) or higher for CPR. Please join us for the learning and hands-on experiences, and take the CPR certification later.
HUNTER'S SAFETY - June 22-25 from 4:00-8:00 (DNR requires a $10 registration fee)
Grades: Ages 11 and older

Course Description: Instruction in proper handling of firearms and hunter's safety. You will earn your hunter safety certificate. You must attend all sessions to meet the required hours.
WILDCAT DAYS - August 20 from 8:00-3:00

Teacher: Middle School Staff
Course Description: All students entering 6th grade at the Edgar Public School need to participate in Wildcat Days. Getting ready for middle school is about making friends, team work, problem solving, organization, time management, and so much more. Plan on having a day of fun, laughter, and games to learn more about the middle school to make it a great year!

Course Description: Students will learn the Chess basics: openings, tactics (forks, skewers, pins) and end of game. Students will learn different moves and strategies in the game of chess. Students will solve chess puzzles and engage in discussion about different situations on the board. Students will compete against each other.
