Stay in Taiwan for Seeking job
Q: I want to stay in Taiwan to find a job. How can I change my visa?
A: Starting January 1, 2026, overseas Chinese and international students who have obtained an Associate Degree or higher in Taiwan are eligible for the following benefits upon approval of their "Stay for Job Seeking" residency extension:
Work Without a Permit: During the job-seeking extension period (up to 2 years), students are exempt from applying for a formal work permit from the Ministry of Labor.
Flexible Employment: You are legally allowed to engage in full-time jobs, part-time work, internships, or freelance projects.
Residency Extension: The extension can be granted for 1 year and renewed once, for a total maximum of 2 years.
APRC Eligibility: Time spent studying in Taiwan can now be credited toward the residency requirements for an Alien Permanent Resident Certificate (APRC).

Q: I found a job. How can I change a student visa to a work visa?
A: To apply for a work visa and permit, most of my students use the method “Apply by New Scoring Criteria for Foreign and Overseas Chinese Students to Work in Taiwan.” Please refer to the Ministry of Labor’s website for more information and consult the HR department of the company that offered you the position for assistance.
Internships after Graduating from University/College in Taiwan
Q: I would like to stay in Taiwan for an internship. What should I do?
A: To apply for an internship to stay in Taiwan after graduation, you must submit an application to the Ministry of Education. Please make sure to prepare all required documents and submit them to the school's Office of Global Affairs (OGA) within the designated application period. For details, please consult the OGA.

Q: I got accepted into a graduate program in Taiwan. What should I do?
A: If you are admitted to a program at NTHU, please contact the Office of Global Affairs (OGA) at NTHU. For other universities, please contact the International Office of the respective institution.
