Professor Chen received her Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Southern California in 2002. Since then, she has been devoted to academic research and education, with research interests spanning web intelligence, social networks, and natural language processing. Committed to nurturing interdisciplinary AI talent and promoting global education, she actively bridges academia and industry to cultivate professionals with both technical expertise and international perspectives, contributing to the development of AI in Taiwan and beyond.
Since joining NTHU in 2004, Professor Chen has been teaching in English. She completed EMI Cert PT training in 2022 and earned her EMI Cert PT certificate in 2023. That same year, she received the NTHU Teaching Excellence Award, which further motivated her to pursue advanced training. In 2024, she became a certified Trinity CertPT Master Trainer, and in 2025, she completed the HEAT Certificate of Completion in Leadership in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education from Advance HE. Professor Chen remains dedicated to exploring innovative approaches to inspire both educators and students alike.

Jennifer W. Liu specializes in English as a Medium of Instruction (EMI) and teacher training. As an Approved Master Trainer for the Certificate of Practicing Teachers (CertPT), she focuses on best practices in EMI education, supporting educators in enhancing their instructional effectiveness in English-medium classrooms.
She holds an M.Ed. in TESOL and an M.A. in Human Development from the University of Maryland, College Park, USA. Her expertise includes scaffolding strategies, language-support techniques, and student-centered methodologies to foster effective EMI learning environments.

Professor Yun-Yin Huang holds a PhD in Instructional Design & Technology and has over 20 years of experience in language education. She is a certified HEA Fellow (2022) and Trinity EMI Certificate holder (2023), currently serving as Coordinator of the Graduate English Program and Student Group Director at the NTHU EMI Center. As an active EMI teacher trainer, she integrates research-based pedagogy into both onsite and online teaching. She founded NTHU 3MT in 2022 to promote academic communication and continues to coach students across disciplines. Her interests include EMI professional development, academic literacies, and research integrity.

Jenna is a teacher trainer with over 10 years’ experience working with teachers, and over 20 years as a teacher herself. In addition to foundational teaching courses, she specializes in EMI and CLIL training in a variety of contexts. She studied Education at the University of Exeter, with a focus on Intercultural Communicative Competence in teacher training.

Farhad A.K. Cassim is TCL’s Cert PT Course Director at NYUST. He has 22 years of practical experience as an EFL teacher and 7 years of practical experience as an EMI/CLIL practitioner. He is responsible for developing EMI course training in a manner that ensures flexibility and diversity while fostering shared values and practices among practitioners and he places a high emphasis on aligning best practices with the characteristics of the local context. He is also actively involved in creating pathways for already experienced and qualified teachers to achieve EMI qualifications via accredited qualifications without needing to repeat training and experience that may have already equipped them with skills promoted by the CertPT. Farhad plays an active role in guiding teachers through the formal assessment reports of Trinity College London’s Cert PT.
