The Master of Arts in Sign Language Education (MASLED) prepares students for leadership and teaching roles in sign language education — blending linguistic theory, pedagogy, curriculum design, and Deaf cultural perspectives into both academic and practical training.
MASLED is a 15-month hybrid cohort program (Summer – Fall – Spring – Summer), combining online coursework with required on-campus summer sessions. Graduates will also earn Certified Level certification from the American Sign Language Teachers Association (ASLTA) — the gold standard for sign language instructors, giving graduates a competitive edge in the field.
The outlook is strong, too: ASL Professor roles are projected to grow 5.7% through 2029, with an average salary of $88,490.
