Gluten- and Dairy-Free: Is it Right for Me?
Misty Stecher
After feeling like crap for a number of years, sore joints, lack of energy, skin conditions, digestive problems, and significant body pain after exercise, I finally spoke to my doctor and then a nutritionist in 2021. At that time through surveys, evaluations, and blood work I found that I had several unknown/undiagnosed food sensitivities. The two biggest triggers were gluten and dairy. Over the course of a few years, lots of consultation with nutritionists, and several failed recipes, I have found what kind of food lifestyle makes me feel the best. Many people are living with food sensitivities and don't even realize it. This session will be an overview of what food sensitivities actually are (NOT food allergies), my personal journey, starting steps people could take to live a gluten/dairy-free lifestyle, what foods/brands to buy and which brands to stay away from, what to look for on labels, what to order when you are eating out, as well as sampling a few gluten/dairy-free foods (they aren't as gross as you'd think).

Mix, Mingle, and Mocktail Your Way Through Life!
Keri Coate
Sometimes after a hard day, it can be easy to pour a glass of wine, drink a beer, or prepare a mixed drink. This can be thought of as self-care because it helps relax you, can involve a social component, or lift your mood. However, alcohol can increase short and long-term health risks. Whether you are by yourself or getting together with co-workers, family, or friends, it is important to have a tasty alternative that still feels like a grown-up drink. The non-alcoholic market is booming right now with more alternatives. This session will focus on making recipes that will still have the taste of a mixed drink, yet none of the alcohol. I will provide a taste test for non-alcoholic wine and beer samples. In addition, we will make 1-2 mocktail recipes.

Self Talk & Hopes: Positive vs. Negative, What We Actually Want vs. What We Don't Want
Teala Grant
I would like to discuss how we speak to ourselves internally and how that affects us mentally and energetically. Other topics of discussion will include the way we think about and speak about our wants and the positive and negative connotations of how we say it and what we're actually saying (Ex: "Ugh, I'm so stupid" vs. "Dang! I messed up, but it's OK," or "I hope it doesn't rain," vs "I hope the weather is nice"). I am a firm believer in the idea that if we change how we think about ourselves, speak to ourselves, and communicate our desires, it will directly affect our experiences in this life and what we receive from the external world.
