Congratulations to our latest Positive Office Referrals. Keep up the great work!

In Robinson-world we first read a story called "SNEEZY THE SNOWMAN". In the story, the snowman drank hot chocolate and did other things which caused him to melt. We then mixed Elmer's glue and shaving cream to make snow and the children painted it on paper to look like a melted Snowfriend. After that we added all the accessories randomly. When the finished product dried, each child wrote or dictated how his/her Snowfriend melted.

Congratulations to all of our award winners from the second nine weeks. We are all so proud of you and encourage all students to work hard and achieve their goals.

During the month of January, Mrs. Houk and Mrs. Hanks combined for their rhythm and dance unit. Kindergarten through Third grade covered square dancing, line dancing, folk dancing, and cardio drumming.

The specialists created a project based learning unit titled, “Dancing with the Stars”. PE and Music had the students create their own line dance to Elvis Presley’s “Jailhouse Rock”. They chose their groups, created a 16 beat line dance, and designed their costumes. Library and Technology had the groups research PE and Music terms, and biographical information on Elvis Presley. The groups learned about gesture drawing in Art, and had to create their own drawing. Over two days, the groups performed their dances and answered questions for five judges. Awards were given to the top three groups; third place resulted in a tie. Special awards were given to recognize costumes, rhythm, effort, cooperation, etc.

A special thank you to Mrs. Emily Boyles, Mrs. Kristen Quesenberry, Mrs. Megan Collins, Officer Fred Bobbitt, Mr. Rob Catron, and Mr. Franklin Jett.
