This page explains how staff at GabADoc customer organizations are enrolled to receive SMS notifications, and the consent and disclosures that apply to every enrollment.
How Enrollment and Consent Work
GabADoc is a business-to-business platform. Individuals do not sign up for SMS notifications themselves through a public web form. Instead, a Customer organization's administrator (for example, a hospitalist group's practice manager) enrolls each employee or contracted provider ("User") in the platform as part of onboarding, and enters that User's mobile phone number at that time.
By enrolling a User in the Service, the Customer organization confirms the User has agreed to receive operational SMS notifications related to their work schedule. This consent is disclosed to every User at enrollment and is set out in our Terms of Service (Section 5, "SMS and Notification Consent") and Privacy Policy (Section 3, "SMS / Text Messaging"), and reflected in the notice below.
The Consent Notice Given at Enrollment
The following notice applies to every User enrolled in GabADoc:
"By being enrolled in GabADoc by your organization's administrator, you agree to receive operational text messages from GabADoc, including shift schedule updates, shift-swap requests, time-off decisions, and on-call paging alerts. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to opt out of SMS messages. Reply HELP for help. See our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service for more detail."
Sample Messages
Examples of the operational messages a User may receive:
"Your shift swap request for [DATE] has been approved. View details at gabadoc.com. Reply STOP to opt out."
"You've been assigned on-call coverage starting [DATE] at [TIME]. Reply STOP to opt out."
Opting Out
Replying STOP opts a User out of SMS messages at any time. Opting out does not remove a User from the underlying schedule -- it only stops text notifications. A User may also ask their organization's administrator to update their contact information or notification preferences at any time.
