Greetings from KG1C! What a busy few weeks we’ve had settling into our class, establishing routines and making new friends. We had our first fire drill in school which was a great success. We walked quietly and calmly to our designated area, making sure to keep our eyes forward, looking at Ms. Caitriona. We also had a Wacky Tacky dress down day. Poppy the parrot came to visit our class this week. We were super excited for her to participate in our learning. Our distance learners worked super hard on their self-portraits during our online session. Take a look some of our pictures…
Our central idea is “People’s relationships affect how they feel and behave”. KG2C discovered that our first relationships were built at home with our families. We decided to build a house to represent the friendships we are building at school.
Poppy The Parrot joins KG1C in PE!
This week Poppy came to visit KG1C and so she joined us when we went to do our exercise scavenger hunt! The students helped Poppy to learn how to do all the different exercises and they even made sure that she was drinking water at the end of the lessons! We had a great time with Poppy and hope that she will come back again soon.
In KG PE, we are exercising daily in the classroom and outside. We are exploring different body movements and exercises. This week we have a fun ‘Fitness Picture’ treasure hunt. Here we go outside and search for different exercises hidden around the school. When we find them we must complete the exercise before going on to search for the next one. We are having so much fun and enjoying the beautiful weather this week.
