On Wednesday, November 2, counselors addressed senior students in an assembly focused on the university application process. Students were reminded to:
Create a Common Application(CA) account and link it to Unifrog .
Select one university on their Common Application so that they may complete the FERPA waiver. This is an important step as teachers cannot upload letters of recommendation unless students have completed the waiver.
Enter all the universities they are applying to and enter the application deadline for each university. Their list will automatically appear on unifrog if the accounts are linked.
Communicate with their teachers with respect to letters of recommendation. They were urged to give teachers adequate notice and time to write the letters.
Keep their counselor informed of their registration of EMSAT and email the results once received.
Fill in the counselor brag sheet.
Schedule a meeting with their counselor if they have not done so already.
Counselors are hoping that parents will partner with them by reinforcing this message at home.

Unifrog believes that destinations - where students end up after school - are even more important than their academic performance. They officially partner with GEMS For Life to support every GEMS student to progress into the best opportunity for them. Unifrog does this by providing a one-stop-shop where students can explore their interests, then find and successfully apply for their best next step after school.
This session is open to all parents to gain a better understanding of the comprehensive Unifrog tools made available to them and their students – free of charge – through their unique partnership with GEMS Education
The session will be held via Zoom – Link for the Zoom

Verity is a family banking and financial literacy app that offers families and children ages 8 – 18 with a money management app and a prepaid card to teach them how to manage their money. Through the app, parents can digitize allowances, send instant money transfers, pay children for household and behavioral chores, teach them how to save and give through Saving and Giving goals, and create a safe and controlled environment where children can learn and make mistakes if need be. Kids and teens also learn how to manage their own money through these tools and by using their own physical and virtual prepaid VISA debit cards. The app will also have fun gamified and educational content to teach children basic money concepts in an age-appropriate way.
