Dear KG families,
As we wind down towards the end of January, we prepare for our Sports Day, this coming Wednesday and Thursday. Students have been working with the P.E teachers to prepare for it and they are excited to wear their house colors! We welcome you all to join us on the field as we cheer and support our young athletes.
Report cards will be available on Thursday, January 30th. Teachers and students have been working together to set learning goals and next steps for the new semester ahead. Kindergarten classes are beginning their unit of inquiry; How We Express Ourselves. This unit enables students to explore their self-expression through a variety of resources and mediums. This unit lends itself to our Arts Festival, which is coming up in March. Stay tuned!
Thank you to all of the families who are continuing to share with us when they have seen their child being kind and caring. The Jewels of Kindness enables us to promote our culture of kindness as well as our IB learner Profile.
Wishing you all a restful weekend ahead!

KG1C definitely grew taller over the December winter break! It seems they had a wonderful time on holiday. They were full of stories and beautiful pictures depicting what they had done over the holidays. They have returned to class with smiles on their faces, and are ready to continue learning, exploring and having fun. On our return it rained. The rain was a welcome addition to our weather observations. It tagged on very nicely to our unit of inquiry: Sharing the Planet and the Central Idea: Living things have needs in order to change and grow. Because all living things need water. We have had so many interesting discussions around the needs of plants, people and animals.
Last week, we had Fatima’s family visit from Liberia. They taught us all about their country! We listened to a story about a greedy spider, tasted some Casava chips and even learned a traditional dance. We made projects on what we learned too. If you would like to see them, pop into our classroom.
