What is the objective of the Reading Ambassadors Club?
The club’s goal is to encourage reading in our school community. As you might know, many kids just don’t really read anymore, and we want to do something about that.
What do you guys do in the club?
We make activities for students to participate in. We meet up with the rest of our club members occasionally to create activities that we think will encourage the members of our community to read more. Some of the activities we have done include creating an author's month display and activities for genius hour, creating a holiday reading list, and creating the 'Blind Date with a Book' display in the library.
Blind Date with a Book Project
Well February is the month for this event. Someone in our club actually came up with the idea in our first meeting, and it was something that everyone really wanted to do. So we took into consideration and now we’re finally able to do it! We've wrapped up a couple of books, and added interesting tropes on a note on the book. If one of them grabs your attention, you can check it out and see if it's a match! If you get the chance, feel free to take a look at the display!
Are you guys still accepting members for your club? Or how else could they be involved?
Signing up is still definitely an option, but they can also be involved by participating in the events and challenges we create. But yeah, we’re still welcoming members so you can sign up here!
Alex Rider Snakehead by Anthony Horowitz

When Alex Rider crash-lands off the coast of Australia, the Australian Secret Service recruits him to infiltrate one of the ruthless gangs operating across Southeast Asia. Known as snakeheads, the gangs smuggle drugs, weapons, and worst of all, people.
Why do you enjoy this book?
The way the author sets the scene is very appealing, starts off with something that appears completely unrelated to the plot, but then ties into the actual story which is really interesting to me. It is also a very easy book to read, and the action scenes are well described and vivid.

To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee
What is this book about?
To Kill a Mockingbird is primarily a novel about growing up under extraordinary circumstances in the 1930s in the Southern United States. The story covers a span of three years, during which the main characters undergo significant changes. Scout Finch lives with her brother Jem and their father Atticus in the fictitious town of Maycomb, Alabama
Why do you enjoy this book?
It captivated my imagination as an adolescent when I read it for the first time in High School. There were so many levels of storytelling involved and the novel presented some tough issues to its reader. I could identify with some of the race issues and connected to the children in the story as I was drawn in by the adventures of Jem, Dill, and Scout.
‘TKaM’ has been a constant companion throughout my life and as I age, the book continually takes on new meaning. It’s a troubling novel and while it was voted ‘America’s Favorite Novel’ a few years ago, it is now being banned in some schools. Despite the novel's controversial issues, it is a triumph of storytelling and deep moral lessons.
