Section 1 - Personal Representation

Both of these are meant to be living documents and the students will be submitting updated resumés and ePortfolio's again at the end of the course.
Section 2 - Personal Development and Networking
Students are expected to be able to:
Engage with personal, education, and employment networks to cultivate post-graduation resources and social capital
Assess personal transferable skills, and identify strengths and those skills that require further refinement
Demonstrate and reflect on inclusive, respectful, and safe interactions in multiple career-life contexts
Explore and evaluate personal strategies, including social, physical, and financial, to maintain well-being
Transferable Skills
This assignment is designed to have the students understand the various soft skills that will help them find more success in their career and personal development. The students are asked to explore the various courses they take in school, and which aspect of these courses they are able to conect with.
"Things to Do on the Sunshine Coast"
This assignment involves the students creating an advertising poster for a Networking event (Real or Fictional) that would help the students connect with 'like-minded individuals' that will help them develop a positive network in any area they are interested in.
Ex: Festival of the Written Arts is an example of an event for a student hoping to pursue a career in writing, publishing, or anyting related to the type of people who may attend.
Ex: Hosting a "Battle of the Bands" concert for people pursuing a career in the music industry
Section 3 - Exploring Post Secondary
Students are expected to be able to:
Analyze internal and external factors to inform personal career-life choices for post-graduation planning
Explore and evaluate personal strategies, including social, physical, and financial, to maintain well-being
Identify and apply preferred approaches to learning for ongoing career-life development and self-advocacy
Engage in, reflect on, and evaluate career-life exploration
Recognize personal worldviews and perspectives, and consider their influence on values, actions, and preferred futures
Programs, Courses, and Certifications
This assignment is designed to help the students explore different certifications that they may be ingterested in completing. The focus is to find certifications that would look good on the students resumé's. This is a review assignment from their CLE course and is a nice introduction to Post Secondary programs.
Post Secondary - Exploring various Careers (Pre-Requisites)
In this assignment, the students will use WorkBC, CareerTrek, and Educaitonplannerbc to explore the various Career Options available and the requisites reauired for varioius post-secondary school programs
Financial Literacy and Personal Buddgets
During this assignemnt, the studetns are given a basic understanding of key financial terms and will create a personal budget while ddeveloping basic spreadsheet skills
Students are expected to be able to:
Design, assemble, and present a capstone
Assess personal transferable skills, and identify strengths and those skills that require further refinement
Collaborate with a mentor to inform career-life development and exploration
Reflect on experiences in school and out of school, assess development in the Core Competencies, and share highlights of their learning journey
