Ancient Ballista
Using wood, rope, (and maybe a few modern bolts), this future engineering student created a working model of a Ballista that was able to shoot a spear approx. 100 metres
*please not all necessary safety pre-cautions were followed and nobody was hurt during the testing stages of this project.....

Plants and Pottery
Often students will choose to compbine two of their passions, like Haleigh who created ceramic pots in art class and filled them with plants she had grown
Sports Projects
Always popular, students who are connected to sports will choose to complete a project on personal growth in several sports such a hockey, dancing, weightlifting, etc..
This project was completed by two students who were the leaders on the Chatelech Rugby team
Personal Stories
Students are also able to complete projects that highlight their personal lives and the growth they have show over the years.
This project was an incredible story about a students connection to her family, the land, and how these have helped her become the person she is.
Connections to Nature
Many students will choose to use the Capstone project to create something that helps them better understand something they have always been interested in.
This project was done by a student with a strong connection to nature, who wanted to better understand the parts of a healthy ecosystem - an area they want on to further explore in post-secondary school
Scientifc Experiments
Some students choose to take on an ambitious research project that pushes the boundaries. This students created biofuel using algae and other sources. This project was completed by a students who is now a Chemistry major. From this project, he was able to learn many valuable things including the importance of safety precautions and how to treat minor burns...
