International Student Teaching

Travel Blog

Welcome to my travel blog!

Hi! My name is Laura Harasimo, and I am pursuing a major in Special Education and Elementary Education at Western Kentucky University. My initial student teaching experience began at Plano Elementary, where I taught in a 5th-grade collaboration classroom for two months. Following that, I spent a month working with a special education LBD teacher at Warren East Middle School.

Now, I am excited to share my upcoming experience participating in WKU's International Student Teaching program with you! In April, I will be heading to Germany, where I will teach at both a primary school, Lambertus Schule, and a secondary school, Anne Frank Gymnasium. Since the students will be on Easter holiday for the first two weeks of April, I plan to travel solo around Europe before staying with a host family in Herbern, Germany.

I hope my story will inspire you to pursue your own international teaching opportunities. Thank you for joining me on this journey!
