During my time with the Garbelmann family, I had the incredible opportunity to visit the Dortmund Police Department and attend a truly special event - the promotional ceremony where my host dad, Carsten, was honored. Carsten was promoted from a two-star ranking to a prestigious three-star position. Normally, family and friends of officers were not allowed to attend such events, but Carsten managed to secure special permission for me to be there. The ceremony was filled with a sense of accomplishment and camaraderie among the officers. 

After the ceremony, I had the privilege of exploring the department's museum, where I delved into the rich history and learned more about the department's significant contributions to law enforcement. It was a memorable day, where I not only got a glimpse into the inner workings of the police department but also witnessed a special moment in my host dad's career.
