I have been working on Duolingo since October 14, 2022! Before I even had conformation that I would be traveling to Germany, I wanted to start learning some of the language! I want to be prepared for the situations that will occur when I come in contact with someone that will not speak English. I plan to keep this up even while I am in Germany and other countries beforehand!

On November 17, 2022, Kyah, Laura, and myself were able to get together with Heike, who is our International Student Teaching coordinator in Germany! It was awesome to be able to meet her face to face before traveling abroad! 

Once I got my host family placement, I emailed them to truly introduce myself and let them know how excited I am to be joining them, and how thankful I am for them helping me on my journey!

On March 18th we had a zoom meeting with Heike, our supervisor in Germany, as well as Dr. Stephanie Martin, and Laura McGee to discuss what it will look like during out time at the schools in Germany! This helped all of us feel much better about our travels and we got our questions answered!
