Initial results of the food survey among university students

Dr. Jozef Štefčík has published an article regarding EDU-FIT in the publication "Informácie & komentáre" titled "EDU-FIT means taking care of your health - Initial results of the food survey among university students" or "EDU-FIT znamená venovať sa svojmu zdraviu Prvotné výsledky prieskumu o stravovaní medzi študentami vysokých škôl" in the original slovene.

The EDU-FIT project is a joint effort between universities and NGO in five countries, such as Slovenia, Croatia, Portugal, Slovakia, Norway to promote a healthy lifestyle among students. The project aims to improve student health and lifestyle by providing them with online resources, creating dietary standards for school canteens, and developing a curriculum for healthy eating and lifestyle courses.

The initial phase of the project involved a survey of students from partner countries. The results showed that most students were aware of the link between food choices and climate change, but that they relied heavily on social media and websites for information about healthy lifestyles.

The surveys identified several areas for improvement, including the need for more reliable sources of information about healthy lifestyles, more university courses on healthy eating and lifestyle, and better support for students who do not live near campus.

The EDU-FIT project is developing a number of resources to address these needs, including a website with healthy recipes and exercises, guidelines for canteen staff, a curriculum for an elective health course, and online tools for communicating about health and weight management.

The project's goal is to raise awareness of the importance of healthy habits, proper nutrition, regular exercise, and social connections, and to support young people in developing these habits. The project's ultimate goal is to create a healthier society by promoting healthy lifestyles among young people.
