The number of women in the geospatial industry are low (30%) and the numbers are even lower in leadership positions (Hawkey & Heazlewood, 2018). The goals of these workshop are to identify challenges women currently face in our universities, and provide recommendations to retain women leaders in the geospatial sciences through active engagement and building of peer-mentorship networks within departments and also across the university and between universities.
The workshops are supported by the grant "Where are the women Geospatial Science leaders of tomorrow? Building the TRELIS to help retain and develop women leaders. " Funded by: Carolynn-Merry Grant, PSU and SU
