You have an opportunity to make changes to your schedule (starting January 7 at noon Eastern Time). We recommend that you discuss any schedule adjustment plans with your academic advisor.
KEEP IN MIND:
All classes have an enrollment cap; you will only be able to add classes on a space available basis. Do not contact professors to request that they add you to their course. They cannot do so, nor can they exceed the cap that is on the course.
If there is a full class you hope to add, you should check frequently throughout this schedule adjustment period in case a seat opens up.
You must maintain a registration for a minimum of 12-13 credits.
These deadlines control when you may no longer add or drop classes:
ADD DEADLINE: January 27
DROP DEADLINE: February 10
These and other key dates are reflected on the Academic Calendar.
Students interested in updating the prefix of a cross-listed course will be given instructions once in Florence.
SU students will continue to receive emails for main campus which can be confusing, especially when it comes to academic dates and deadlines. Remember to follow the information provided by Syracuse Abroad and reach out if you have any questions!
JANUARY 7 - JANUARY 27: ADD, SWAP, DROP - Even before classes start and through your first class session(s), you may want to swap class(es) for different offering(s), add a new class or drop a class from your schedule.
RESTRICTIONS:
Syracuse undergraduate tuition covers up to 19 credits, so you may not exceed this cap.
For any courses you intend to DROP, please read the additional restrictions in the "DROP ONLY" section below.
You will not be able to change your ITA class(es). If your professor determines that you are in the wrong level, we will administratively correct your schedule.
Some classes are open only to students admitted to Special Programs (see Schedule of Classes).
During the initial enrollment period, certain special programs courses such as studio arts were only open to select students. Several of these courses are now available for any student to take in Spring by special permission, see the list below (and check the Schedule of Classes for any pre-requisites):
DES 300.1 Kitchens and Cultures: Domestic Interiors in Italian Societies (email florenceacademic@syr.edu for access)

JANUARY 28 - FEBRUARY 10: DROP ONLY - You can drop classes anytime during schedule adjustment through the Drop deadline of February 10 at 11:59 PM Florence time, with these exceptions:
No student may drop below 12-13 credits of Florence courses.
You may not drop CAS 200.1 or your ITA classes since they are required by the Florence program.
Signature Seminar students: you may not drop the Signature Seminar course. You should be enrolled in at least 12-13 credits, in addition to the Signature Seminar.
Studio Program students: you must remain registered for a minimum of 2 studio classes (and cannot take more than 3 studios).
Architecture Program students: ARC 571 and 407 are required and may not be dropped.
