Organic Chemistry at SLU
Students accepted to our Madrid Health and Science program are eligible to take Organic Chemistry I while abroad. Organic Chemistry I students in Madrid attend class at our partner institution St. Louis University's Madrid Campus ("SLU-Madrid"). (SLU-Madrid, with its with state-of-the-art lab facilities, is the European campus of Saint Louis University, the oldest university west of the Mississippi River.)
IMPORTANT! Note that SLU-Madrid will email you directly at your SU email address (*@syr.edu) regarding enrollment in Organic Chemistry.
Note that SLU-Madrid has a second, separate enrollment process from Syracuse's. You will shortly (in early May) receive an email directly from SLU-Madrid.
The SLU-Madrid email will give you access to your SLU-Madrid admission portal ("Billiken Gateway") where you will find your decision letter along with your Banner ID number. This letter will provide the link to confirm your enrollment.
When confirming, you will need to enter your up-to-date passport number and complete other steps.
You must complete the SLU-Madrid online enrollment process by the deadlines established by SLU-Madrid in order to be correctly registered for CHE 275 and CHE 276.
Grades for courses taken at SLU-Madrid will not post to your SU transcript until our office receives your official SLU-Madrid transcript. At Syracuse University, you must complete all work for registered classes on or before the degree certification date. If you are graduating, seek advice from your home college regarding your degree certification date.
Your Organic Chemistry classes have been scheduled to allow ample travel time to and from the Madrid Center (located at Calle de Miguel Ángel, 8, Chamberí, 28010 Madrid, Spain). It's an easy commute by bus or metro (both free with the public transport card included in your program fee). You should allow up to 30 minutes for the trip.
See below, or download a printable map [PDF, 387 KB]. You can also explore the route for yourself online.
