All undergraduate students are required to take the following:
· A minimum of 13 credits
Due to Italian immigration requirements, you may not drop below 13 credits at any point during the semester.
You may not earn more than 19 total credits without approval from your home college (visiting students seek approval from Syracuse Abroad); registration over 19 credits is subject to additional per-credit tuition charges.
· CAS 200.1 – Mapping Italy
This one-credit class begins online pre-arrival on January 3 and includes in-person and online sessions at the Syracuse Florence campus during the semester.
· Italian Language or Literature course(s)

Architecture, Design, Engineering and Studio Arts students:

CONSIDER additional Program Options:
Meet Italian Students: Students who select ECN 380.1 - History of Economic Thought will have an exciting opportunity to study alongside Italian undergraduates. This University of Florence course is taught in English and held on the Syracuse Florence campus, following the Syracuse academic calendar.
Some courses are open only to students admitted to Florence Special Programs (Architecture, Design, Engineering and Studio Arts) as noted on the Schedule of Classes.

Enrollment priority for the following courses goes to Food Studies, Nutrition Science, and related majors who may request no more than two as Primary Selections on their SAF. Non-majors should not select more than one course:
FST 300 - Vine to Table: Italian Wines in Context (any section)
FST 402 - Feeding the City: Urban Food Systems
NSD 452 - Mediterranean Food and Culture: Florence Experience (any section)
Students may not register for both of the following courses, since similar content is covered in each:

Plan to register for only one of these introductory art history courses:
HOA 200.1 - Modernism and After: 20th Century European Art
HOA 203 – Italian Arts from Antiquity to Michelangelo (any section)
HOA 320 – Italian Renaissance Art (any section)

STUDIO ARTS COURSES:
If you have not been admitted to the Studio Arts (SA) Program, you may request only one studio arts course on your SAF. Enrollment is subject to availability; for Spring 2024, most studio art courses are expected to be filled by Studio Arts Program students.
Non-SA Program students requesting an intermediate or advanced level course should be prepared to demonstrate their ability through samples of their work or evidence of prior coursework. Samples of work will be reviewed during academic advising in Florence.
All registration restrictions will be confirmed or announced in the Registration Information available prior to online registration.
