You have an opportunity to make changes to your schedule (starting January 3 at noon Eastern Time). You should first discuss any schedule adjustment plans with your academic advisor.
KEEP IN MIND:
All classes have an enrollment cap; you will only be able to add classes on a space available basis. Do not contact professors to request that they add you to their course. They cannot do so, nor can they exceed the cap that is on the course.
If there is a full class you hope to add, you should check frequently throughout this schedule adjustment period in case a seat opens up.
You must maintain a registration for a minimum of 12-13 credits.
These deadlines control when you may no longer add or drop classes:
ADD DEADLINE: Monday, January 22
DROP DEADLINE: Monday, February 5
JANUARY 3 - JANUARY 22: ADD, SWAP, DROP - Even before classes start and through your first class session(s), you may want to swap class(es) for different offering(s), add a new class or drop a class from your schedule (we strongly encourage you to first review any changes with your academic advisor).
RESTRICTIONS:
Syracuse undergraduate tuition covers up to 19 credits, so you may not exceed this cap.
For any courses you intend to DROP, please read the additional restrictions in the "DROP ONLY" section below.
You will not be able to change your ITA class(es). If your professor determines that you are in the wrong level, we will administratively correct your schedule.
Some classes are open only to students admitted to Special Programs (see Schedule of Classes).
During the initial enrollment period, certain special programs courses such as studio and design were only open to select students. Several of these courses are now available for any eligible student to take in Spring, see the list below (and check the Schedule of Classes for any pre-requisites):
DES 300.1: Kitchens and Cultures: Domestic Interiors in Italian Societies (updated course fee!)
MAT 485: Differential Equations and Matrix Algebra for Engineers (email florenceacademic@syr.edu for access)
CEE 274: Sustainability in Civil & Environmental Systems (email florenceacademic@syr.edu for access)
ARCH Program students: you may only attempt to swap professional elective courses.
Looking for a different General Center course to add? Consider the following:
EEE 370: Introduction to Entrepreneurship and Emerging Enterprises
BUA 300.2: Made in Italy: Business, Craftsmanship & Branding Success (TuTh 3:30pm - 5:00pm section)
After the Add deadline of January 22nd at 11:59 PM Eastern Time, MySlice will not allow you to select new class(es). This means the add and swap functions will no longer be available.
JANUARY 23 - FEBRUARY 5: DROP ONLY - You can drop classes anytime during schedule adjustment through the Drop deadline of February 5 at 11:59 PM Florence time, with these exceptions:
No student may drop below 12-13 credits of Florence courses.
You may not drop CAS 200.1 or your ITA classes since they are required by the Florence program.
STUDIO ARTS Program students: you must remain registered for a minimum of 2 studio classes (and cannot take more than 3 studios).
ARCH Program students: ARC 571 and 407 are required and may not be dropped
You should first review any plans to drop a class with your academic advisor to ensure you will stay on track for graduation.
