Location: Meredith Trail, Des Moines, IA
Year: 2013
Area: 2500 ft2
Program: Public Space
Structure: Steel Frame
The pavilion is enclosed with a "black zinc skin" meant be unfolded to provide panoramic views out of the upper level cafe. The overhanging roof and louvered west facade work to block harsh, western sun, while not impeding the views of the river.
A simple steel frame acts as the structure of this "crystalline" building.
