The Invisible Tribe

The current leader of the Pokanoket Nation, Sagamore Po Wauipi Neimpaug (Winds of Thunder), has referred to the Pokanoket as "the invisible tribe" due to persecution and marginalization from the 17th C. to today. The Pokanoket have survived and are now flourishing, with over 300 active tribal members throughout southern New England.
