If you want to have individual folders that are just shared between you and each individual student in your class, this is a painless way to do it. This would be helpful if you have your students keep journals or some kind of process-folio work that you want to check without them having to officially turn it in and you don’t want them to be able to see each other’s work.
1. The student will (tsw) create a folder named Last Name, First Name.
2. TSW share the folder with the teacher.
3. The teacher will (ttw) create a folder on My Drive called “1st Period Shared Folders” (or whatever you want to call it).
4. TTW click on Shared With Me on the left menu in Drive.
5. TTW move the student folders in Shared With Me to the “1st Period Shared Folders” drive. (To move, drag the folders into the My Drive icon on the left navigation bar, and that will automatic open the subfolders.)
That’s it! Now you can check out whatever the students are keeping in that folder, and they can see whatever you drop in their folder, but they can’t see each other’s work.
