Create detailed profiles: The more information you provide (GPA, extracurriculars, interests, background, location, etc.), the better these sites can match you with relevant scholarships.
Be specific: When searching, use keywords related to your major, hobbies, heritage, community involvement, or unique circumstances.
Watch out for scams: Legitimate scholarship searches never ask for money. If a scholarship asks for an application fee, processing fee, or promises you a scholarship in exchange for money, it's likely a scam.
Apply to many: Scholarship success often comes down to playing the numbers game. Apply to as many as you qualify for!
Local scholarships: Don't forget to also check with your high school's college & career advisor as well as your school counselor, local community foundations, and local businesses. These often have less competition.
Colleges offer many scholarships. After you apply, check their scholarship portal or call Financial Aid office for information.
