Epic Waters
Epic Waters
Our 6th graders from MHE had the opportunity to represent their school, FMJH choir, and Richardson RISD at the Epic Waters Music Festival on May 1st. They sang two songs for the guest judge, Colton Blake, and he provided them with some constructive feedback and awarded them a SUPERIOR rating and trophy!!! We are so incredibly proud of these students and know they'll continue to do great things throughout their choir journey!
Solo & Ensemble
On Wednesday, April 10th, we had the privilege of hosting the Lake Highlands Area Vocal Music Festival. Students from FMJH, Lake Highlands, Apollo, and Liberty JH's have spent the last few weeks preparing to perform either as a soloist or a small ensemble for one of our invited judges. We had several charger singers involved in this event, from performing for a rating to volunteering their time to help make the event run as smoothly as possible, and are so incredibly proud to announce that everyone who performed received a SUPERIOR rating!!!
Additionally, the judges nominated a handful of our students to receive and additional reward for their OUTSTANDING performances (see images below for the final results.)
UIL Concert & Sight Reading State Assessment
We had three choirs represent FMJH at our UIL state assessment on March 21st and 22nd. These students have been working diligently since January to both prepare three songs that were selected off of a prescribed list of music and hone their skills as music readers in order to sing 24 measures of music that they have never seen before at sight.
The Bel Canto treble choir received a SUPERIOR rating on stage and an EXCELLENT rating in sight reading!
The Combined Varsity Tenor Bass choir received overall SUPERIOR ratings both on stage and in sight reading!!
The Varsity Chorale Treble choir also received overall SUPERIOR ratings both on stage and in sight reading!!!
We are so incredibly proud of the dedication, grit, and overall growth that our singers have demonstrated throughout this process!
GO CHARGERS!!!
Region 20 Honor Choir
We had six chargers represent Forest Meadow in the Region 20 All Region Choir this January. They each learned two audition pieces and competed against hundreds of other students from Richardson, Highland Park, Dallas, and Irving ISD in order to earn their spot in this choir. We are so incredibly proud of their hard work and grit through this process!
