Dear 8th Grade Parents and Guardians,
It's hard to believe our 8th graders are already beginning to prepare for high school! Over the next few months, the FMMS Counseling Team will guide students as they explore high school courses, discover their interests and strengths, learn about career pathways, and begin planning their transition from Forest Meadow to Lake Highlands High School!

OCTOBER | EXPLORE HIGH SCHOOL
October 13: Introductory email to 8th grade families.
October 20–21: Personal Graduation Plan (PGP) lesson introducing 9th–12th grade core courses and graduation requirements.
October 28, 6:00–7:30 PM: Spotlight on LHHS at Lake Highlands High School.
NOVEMBER | DISCOVER YOUR PATHWAY
November 17: LHHS comes to FMMS for a Pathway & Electives Preview Day! Students will explore electives, Career & Technical Education programs and pathways.
DECEMBER | PLAN YOUR FRESHMAN SCHEDULE
December 1–11: FMMS counselors will meet individually with students to discuss 9th grade electives, pathway classes, and required courses for graduation.
JANUARY | CONNECT WITH LHHS
Friday, January 22, 2027: LHHS counselors visit FMMS to meet with students and review course selections.
