Students:
Complete all activities in order. Make sure you take good notes as you will use them to write your paper!
Families:
Your student should be able to independently access materials to research. The goal of these lessons is to take notes on thinking and sources in order to write a research paper.

Activity #1: Sharing Cookies Act 1 & 2
Goal: To ask questions, estimate and plan for a solution.
Materials Needed: paper and pen/pencil
Look at the picture and submit the Google Form for Act 1.
Watch the videos and submit the Google Form for Act 2 .

Activity #2: Sharing Cookies Act 3
Goal: To use knowledge of and strategies for addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division to solve a real-life problem.
Materials Needed: paper, pen/pencil, math tools of your choosing, ideas and decisions from Activity #1!
Solve the problem you created (how many people are you sharing with, what will you do with the leftovers?)
Share your strategy on padlet! (see link and instructions below)
Look at others strategies and comment to give compliments and/or ask questions if you want to learn more about their thinking.
Activity #3: Answer Math Questions
Goal: To practice using reasoning for to solve other math questions about the Oreos.
Materials Needed: Other Math Questions OR Your OWN math question, pen/pencil, paper, a way to share your work.

Look over the list of Other Math Questions. Pick 2-3 to solve.
OR
Ask and answer 2-3 of your own math questions about the Oreos package.
Solve 2-3 math questions.
Share your work with a teacher through email, Seesaw or Dojo.

Answer the questions on the form.
