Paper 2 is called "Evolving Media". Within this 2 hour exam in June, you will explore how industries and audiences work symbiotically to produce successful (or sometimes not-so-successful!) media products, whether they are radio shows, films, TV programmes or videogames.

You will study 3 topics and be questioned on x2 of them within this first section of the exam. They are:-
Film Industry - SET TEXTS = Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937) & Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021)
Radio Industry - SET TEXT = Radio 1 Breakfast Show with Greg James
Videogame Industry - SET TEXT = Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Section B: Long Form TV Drama
You will answer 2 x questions on our set text programmes: Stranger Things season 1 episode 1 & Deutschland 83 season 1 episode 1

Research other open world games and explore what platforms they’re available on, is crossplay possible, franchising and in game purchasing.
Compare your chosen game with a retro game such as Super Mario or Sonic the Hedgehog - what are the key differences both stylistically (the way it looks) and how audiences can interact with it.
