READING AND LISTENING

At A-level you typically have control of your own recording, whether for practice or in exam situations. Listening passages get longer, tasks less predictable. However, listening should not be considered a chore, it is one of the best ways to feed German into your brain and you can put your feet up at the same time! The same is true for reading.

A-level materials contain not just new words and structures, but also information about the German-speaking countries (Landeskunde). If you are interested in this – and as an A-level student you are expected to – you will pick up all sorts of facts and ideas. Some trivial and amusing, others exam relevant!
