Hi, I'm Lauren Howlett. I took A Level Business, Textiles, Graphics and French. Since leaving QE in 2009, I completed a degree in International Fashion Marketing at Manchester Metropolitan University (gained a 2:1 honours). This included a sandwich year out in industry where I worked as a trainee merchandiser for a clothing manufacturer and supplier to major retail stores.
After my degree I stayed in Manchester and worked as an assistant import merchandiser for two years looking after supplying clothing for George at Asda, then I moved onto a new company taking the full role as import merchandiser looking after a variety of customers including Missguided, Dunnes and New Look.
After the above two roles I moved into a supply chain role as a Demand Planner for AO.com looking after their small domestic appliances account then moving to launch the console gaming category for them and managing that (alongside audio and mobile phones) for around 2 years. More recently I have moved roles to develop my career further into demand planning and now I am the UK demand planner/demand manager for Wepa UK who are a paper manufacturer supplying toilet roll and kitchen roll to the major supermarkets and convenience stores in the UK (so recently been very busy!!). My career has definitely moved from fashion but I am realising I prefer the analytical forecast planning to any other role.
