The Student Association aim to create an atmosphere of mutual respect for each other.
The common room is a social space in which we expect students - yourself included - to feel safe, motivated and, of course, respected.
Throughout your time in College we expect you, as a young adult, to respect other cultures, religions, races, sexuality and practices that differ from your own.
Students are encouraged to take responsibility for their learning and their actions.
Your responsibility is demonstrated when you, as both a student and as a person, make choices and take actions which lead you toward your life goals.
In this college, you can prove to yourself that you are responsible by:
respecting social spaces such as the common room.
owning up to your behavior, good or bad.
acting in a civil manner that respects the college learning/social environment and complies with college policies.
being mature by respecting other ideas and opinions.
Tolerance of faiths, beliefs and cultures different to our own is central to this country and to this college.
In turn, raising awareness of current issues in relation to these topics makes you more aware, tolerant and accepting. These three are skills that you will want to obtain before adulthood.
Throughout your time in college, you are encouraged to make choices.
Choices that will affect you now, and in the future
Choices of who will represent you on the Student Association, which charities will be supported and what socials will occur.
All choices are made in a safe and supportive environment.
You are encouraged to look at issues that affect young people, through displays and information sources. You will be encouraged to investigate the topic from a range of view points and perspectives.
Through a democratic process, you will decide who will represent you on the Student Association, and who will become the president.
You have rights within our college.
However, with rights comes responsibility.
Please be aware of your actions and the impacts they have on you, others, and the College
