Topic: Post-Secondary Planning

Goal Statement: Students will learn about different colleges/post-secondary options in Iowa.

ASCA Mindsets & Behaviors Standard (s): M 4: Understanding the post-secondary education and lifelong learning are necessary for long term career success. B-SS 9:Demonstrate social maturity and behaviors appropriate to the situation and environment.

Materials:

• Iowa College Aid's College Directory Digital Booklet

• Blooklet Link

• Student Laptop

Procedures:

1. Direct students to open digital College Directory Booklet 

2. Give the students a few minutes to look over booklet, highlight the following:

• p. 3, List of Iowa colleges and universities , broken down by regent, private, community colleges, other

• p. 4,  Iowa Public Universities - information on location, student enrollment, tuition,      admission processes, etc. 

• p. 6-12, detailed information on Iowa Private colleges and universities 

• p. 14- 17, detailed information on Iowa Community Colleges 

3.  Blooket Game  

• Students log onto play.blooket.com  (GAME Code - 8180090) 

• Students can work with partner or individually  

• Answers can be found in College Directory Booklet (recommended to have open on seperate tab or split screen)
